Over 7 days and 6 nights you will discover the cultural and natural richness of Tumaco through music, traditional cuisine and encounters with coastal communities.

Between beaches, mangroves and the Pacific Ocean you will share time with musicians, traditional cooks and knowledge holders, exploring the traditions, flavours and ways of life that shape this territory.

Day-by-day itinerary

7 days and 6 nights between Bocagrande, Soledad Cuary and the sea of Tumaco.

Day 1
Arrival and cultural welcome
Arrival in Tumaco and transfer to Bocagrande. On the way we visit Las Puertas del Cielo and meet a local cultural foundation. Later we take part in a traditional instrument building workshop and close the day with a first music session alongside community musicians.
Day 2
Music, cooking and beach time
The morning is free to enjoy the beaches of Bocagrande. After lunch we keep exploring Pacific rhythms in a hands-on music session. In the evening we share a culinary experience with the chefs of María del Mar, discovering the flavours and preparations that are part of Tumaco's cultural identity.
Day 3
Viche tradition and community life
We travel to the community of Soledad Cuary to visit Don Onésimo, a renowned viche master, and his family. There we learn about the making of viche and the cultural importance of this ancestral drink. The day ends sharing time with the community and enjoying their hospitality.
Day 4
Pacific whales and guitar evening*
The morning is dedicated to whale watching in Pacific waters. Afterwards we return to Bocagrande for free time by the sea. At nightfall we join a traditional guitar gathering, sharing songs, stories and musical expressions in an intimate community setting.
Day 5
Dance, music and oral tradition
We start with a dance workshop to learn the basic movements of the rhythms explored during the week. Later we share a music session with the matronas cantoras, who pass on their stories, songs and traditions while we play and learn with them.
Day 6
Mangroves and farewell celebration
We take part in a piangua gathering and canoe journey, traditional activities deeply connected to the mangroves and coastal ecosystems of the region. After a free afternoon we gather for the closing celebration, with a special dinner and a spontaneous encounter of marimba, drums and voices to share everything lived during the experience.
Day 7
Farewell to the Pacific
After a calm breakfast we have time to enjoy the beach one last time before the transfer to Tumaco airport. We return carrying the bonds, learning and memories built alongside the Pacific communities.
